'This Thing Called Swing'

This Thing Called Swing is aimed at jazz and swing music enthusiasts, students of music and dance history as well as the growing number of people interested in the dances of the swing era, including the jitterbug, lindy hop, big apple and earlier dances including the charleston and black bottom.

During the latter half of 1994 we began our research into the history of swing music and swing dance. Two and a half years later, in late spring 1997, the Original Lindy Hop Collection published and launched the book This Thing Called Swing, a history of swing music and swing dance.

There are many jazz books which cover the whole spectrum of jazz from the early days to modern jazz. This Thing Called Swing uniquely covers the era when jazz was dance music.
